8 Best Affiliate Programs For Beginners: Top Paying Affiliate Programs To Make Money
If you’re a blogger, you have probably heard about affiliate marketing. In this post we are going to be looking at 8 best affiliate programs for beginners which will help you make passive income.
Affiliate marketing programs are one of the best ways you can make money through your blog.
What exactly is affiliate marketing?
In plain terms, affiliate marketing is when you get your own link to promote something on your blog. When people click on your link and make a purchase, a portion of what they paid will go to you at no extra cost to them.
Over the past few months, I have been learning about which affiliate programs are worth joining, especially as a new blogger. What I learned was that you can absolutely make money in your first couple of months blogging, but you need to have a few things in place on your blog first.
The first thing you will need for affiliate marketing is obviously a blog.
Starting a blog is not complicated at all, even for somebody who isn’t very techy like me.
Here is a step-by-step on how to create a blog from scratch. I use Bluehost as my hosting company and stand by them 100%. Before I moved to Bluehost, I used a different hosting company at the beginning of my blogging journey and made the switch to Bluehost a month later. I can honestly say that it has made the biggest difference in my blog.
You can also join my 7-day email course (it’s free!) on how to set a blog up, where I go into more detail about the nitty-gritty of blogging!
Before I share the affiliate marketing programs with you, here is what your blog will need to have before you can be approved for most of these:
- Self-hosted blog
- Your own email domain (not @gmail)
- Privacy & Disclosure page
- About Me page
Once you have all of these, you can then start applying to affiliate marketing programs.
This post contains affiliate links. I only promote what I have tried and loved, and if you choose to buy anything through my links, I make a small commission at no extra cost to you which lets me continue to produce new content on this blog. You can read my full disclaimer here.

Flex Offers
Flex Offers is another awesome affiliate marketing program with over 10,000 merchants to choose from! It’s safe to say that there is something here for every niche.
I’ve read articles about people getting thousands of dollars through Flex Offers, so it is definitely an affiliate program you should sign up for!
If you’re in the US, you can get paid directly to your account or via check, and if you’re outside the US you can make it simple and choose to get paid through PayPal, or via wire transfer.
Payments are made 60 days after purchase, and how much commission you will make depends on the merchant.
Sign up to the Flex Offers affiliate program here.
Amazon Associates
Amazon Associates is an affiliate program which I think is the most common among bloggers. The Amazon affiliate program is easy to be a part of, and you can find many different things to promote.
Whatever your niche is, you can find things on Amazon to add to your posts. Amazon Associates pays up to 10% per purchase to their associates. The best thing about it is that anybody can join! You don’t need any prior approvals.
Also, if somebody goes on Amazon using your link and ends up buying multiple items, as long as they used your link to get to the site, you will get a percentage of all that they’ve bought!
You will be paid by direct deposit, Amazon.com Gift Certificate, or check, whichever method you choose upon sign-up.
Sign up to Amazon Associates here.
Share-A-Sale
Share-A-Sale is another widely used associates program because of how many different merchants they work with.
With Share-A-Sale, you can even make money without having somebody purchase through your link. They offer something called pay per lead programs which means that you can get paid even if the customer doesn’t buy anything.
As long as they’ve clicked on your referral link and taken an action on the site, you still get paid! How much commission you get varies based on the merchant.
To apply for Share-A-Sale you will need your own email domain. I tried signing with them many times with my Gmail account and was rejected until I made a domain email.
Sign up to the Share-A-Sale affiliate program here.
Bluehost
The Bluehost affiliate program is great! They pay $65 per referral and above, depending on how many people purchase through your link.
You get paid between 45-60 days after the sale goes through and affiliates are paid through PayPal, which is great because you get paid no matter where you are in the world!
I personally have made money with Bluehost and stand by them 100%. Click here if you’d like to create a blog using Bluehost!
If you would like to become an affiliate with them, this is the link.
Grammarly
Grammarly is great if you are a blogger or writer. It’s like spellcheck but better, since it also checks if your sentences are grammatically correct or not. I personally use Grammarly and LOVE it.
With Grammarly, you get between 20-30% per referral and you are eligible for a $25 bonus if you place their banner on your blog. You also get a 90-day cookie window, which means if somebody clicks on your link and purchases a Grammarly plan, you will get a commission as long as they bought it within 90 days of clicking on the link.
Sign up with Grammarly Affiliates here.
Tailwind
You can sign up to Tailwind’s affiliate program through Share-A-Sale, so you will need to apply for that first.
When you do get approved, Tailwind affiliates make 15% commission per sale. You also get a 90-day cookie window, as well as banners you can place on your site to attract more sales.
Tailwind is a Pinterest and Instagram scheduler which a lot of bloggers use, myself included! I use it for all my pins (it pins close to 100 pins for me daily!), and I recently started using it for Instagram scheduling!
If you talk about blogging/Pinterest/Instagram on your blog, promoting Tailwind should be a breeze for you! I don’t have an affiliate program with them YET, but I am definitely signing up for it soon!
Click here to sign up to their affiliate program.
ConvertKit
ConvertKit is another great affiliate program and many bloggers promote it.
If you’ve ever seen bloggers with beautiful landing pages and pop-ups, chances are CovertKit was used to make them. If you would like to use my link to sign up for their stellar email marketing software, here it is. Also, I’m going to be writing about the benefits of email marketing soon, so stay tuned!
What is awesome about their affiliate program is that they offer a 30% recurring commission, meaning that you get the 30% commission every month from each sale you make!
Sign up with the ConvertKit affiliate program here.
Shopify
Shopify is an e-commerce platform. With the Shopify affiliate program, affiliates make $58 for each user who signs up for a paid plan and $2000 for each Plus referral!
Yes, $2000 per signup!
As insane as that sounds, it’s not impossible. There are many success stories on the Shopify Affiliate page of people who have had great success with their program.
You can sign up to their affiliate marketing program here.
I hope you enjoyed this post! And make sure to grab your copy of the affiliate marketing guide here to learn all about how to properly promote your links to make sales on autopilot.

I like the way you’ve highlighted the potential earnings for each of these opportunities, and your experience with using them. I’ve also found that it’s pretty easy to include some affiliate ads for products I really love in my blog posts. So far, I’ve contacted companies directly to inquire about their affiliate programs. I also tried Amazon Affiliates, but was just shy of the required sales during the trial period, so need to build up my readership before applying again.

Your comment got marked as spam for some reason so I’m only just seeing it! Ah, I see. Amazon is tricky like that. Hopefully you can build your audience and apply again soon! 🙂

Fabulous! I’m currently wishing that I had waited until my blog was a bit older before signing up to Amazon because I’m not sure I’m going to hit the minimum sales in the first 6 months (clicks have only started converting this month) but I do try very hard to support bloggers by using their affiliate links when I’m shopping online 🙂
Mariam says
That’s the only thing I don’t like about their affiliate program! Hopefully you can generate enough sales by the time your trial window ends!
ThatAutisticFitChick says
I hope so; I’m crossing everything. I’m not sure if there’s an option to reapply in the future or not
Mariam says
I’ve read somewhere that you can apply again if you don’t make a sale the first time.
