In today’s Feature Friday, I have the pleasure of interviewing Amanda who is the owner of one of my favorite blogs, Smart Girly Mindset.
I don’t remember how I found out about her blog, probably on Twitter, but I’ve been a very big fan of her feel-good platform ever since. She posts about all the things I love reading about- self-love, a positive mindset and much more.
Without further ado, here’s a little insight into Amanda and her blog.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Amanda. I’m 20 years old and I’m a college student. I love to spend time with my friends, my family, and my little dog, which is not that little anymore. I’m a huge fan of series and I love to watch movies after a long day of college work. I’m obsessed with Shawn Mendes. And I believe that there’s nothing more relaxing than a scented candle, my laptop, a cup of coffee, and some background music. I’m a self-love advocate. I’m always trying to be positive and share that energy with others and affirmations are my go-to.
2. What do you blog about?
My blog is a combination of several topics which at the end I believe connect one another. I write about my experiences, the things that have helped me over the years, advice for college students, my vision towards the girl boss lifestyle, and every Wednesday I publish a motivational letter where my main goal is to show others that they’re not alone. I try to implement positive energy, kindness, and love in every single one of my posts. Because my blog is all about helping girls to realize that they’re worth and they can achieve all their goals if they believe in themselves.
3. Why did you start your blog?
I actually started my blog because I wanted to write down all my feelings and the things that I was having at the moment. I started it in 2016 when I was in a very low position. But after 2 years and a half, I decided I could use my blog for a better cause, helping others. That’s how Smart Girly Mindset was born.
4. What did you hope to achieve when you first started blogging?
I wanted to let people know that they were not alone, that there’s always someone who can understand what they’re going through. And that it’s okay to feel lost. I really wanted to make other girls, just like me, feel fulfilled with love and kindness. And be inspired by those little things that we might not be taking care of because we’re so busy trying to survive.
5. Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
Hard question, I really like to read other people’s blogs. But the ones I’ve read the most are Blog Pixie, I used her blog to start mine. So I’m a huge fan. Another blog is Jenna Kutcher’s blog. I really love the tips and advice she gives to entrepreneurs and for personal development. Last but not least, Lavendaire. I’m all about positivity and self-love, which are the topics she writes and films about. I really love her content.
6. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I really like to connect with people and read their comments on my posts, all the feedback is usually pretty positive and I love it. I also like to share my own experiences and see how those can help other girls who might be in the same situation.
7. What’s a blogging tool you can’t live without?
Canva. I’ve done multiple designs there and I really find it helpful. I couldn’t be able to do my graphics without it.
8. What’s a piece of advice you would give someone who is struggling with their blog?
I will say that you need to be patient and believe in yourself. Results will be seen eventually, you just need to work on it and you’ll see that whenever you’re least expecting it everything will start to fall in place. Also, being organized will help you immensely, mostly if you have a part-time job or you’re a student.
9. What has been your biggest blogging achievement?
I think that moving my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org was a big achievement for me. I actually would never think I would be able to do it because I didn’t felt like I was good enough to go that road. But my mom saw that I was doing a good job by spreading kindness and helping others in some way, that she helped me to have my blog self-hosted.
10. Aside from blogging, how else do you spend your time?
I usually spend my time studying or working on my college tasks. But whenever I have free time, I love to go out or stay at my dorm and watch movies with my roomies.
11. Where do you hope to see your blog in 5 years?
I have a lot of hope to see my blog grow eventually. I’ve been working hard towards it & seeing more people reading it and feeling the love and positive energy that I want to spread with my blog would be amazing.
Thank you so much, Amanda for letting me feature you on Boss Babe Chronicles!
