In today’s post, I will be sharing 10 of the best opt-in freebies that you can create to grow your mailing list.
As a blogger, you probably know how important creating a mailing list is. If you blog but don’t have a mailing list yet, head on here to learn how to create a mailing list for free.
I also explain why having a mailing list is important, and some ideas on what to send out as newsletters.
A lot of fellow bloggers have told me that they don’t know why their mailing list isn’t growing. If you’re also wondering the same thing, it might be because you’re not offering your readers anything in return for subscribing to you.
Subscribe to my newsletter for the latest updates!
Or
Sign up here for a free training in (something to do with your niche)!
My guess is the latter.
In order for your readers to turn into subscribers, you need to offer them something that will provide value for them.
While you’re here, I offer a 7-day blogging email course that you can sign up to if you would like to learn more about creating a blog, promoting it, monetizing it and more.

One thing I love to sign up for are free templates! You can create an editable template in Canva and then save it as a PDF to your subscribers.
Webinars are really fun to watch. If you are knowledgeable about a certain topic, film yourself talking about it and offer that as your freebie. You could also offer a free webinar to go along a blog post that you want to explain more about!
The first freebie that I ever created was a workbook. Workbooks can be created for a number of different niches so if you have an idea for one, go for it!
You can either create a short ebook for your new subscribers, or offer a few pages of a paid book you have as a sneak-peek.
Give your readers a printable that helps them achieve something related to your post or niche.
Who doesn’t love learning something new? You can set up an automated course like I did with ConvertKit, or set one up with your mailing service.
This can be used by your readers to help them achieve a goal by outlining actionable steps!
If you offer a paid service, or ebook, you can offer discount codes on those as an incentive for your readers to sign up to your mailing list.
If you create many freebies, you might want to consider creating a resource library where your subscribers can choose what to download.
This can be similar to a podcast episode and can like the webinar, can have a further explanation of your post or niche.
I hope you enjoyed this post on 10 opt-in freebie ideas. If you have any more ideas on what to offer readers as an opt-in freebie, leave them in the comments below!

These are fantastic ideas! I haven’t focused much energy of any of the above yet however I can see how appealing it would be and how professional it looks.

Thank you so much Alyssa! π
This is a great resource for anyone considering offering opt-ins on their website. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
Love this! As someone just starting out, I love being able to read new tips like these!
I hope this can help you! π
Very useful. I personally use check lists and work books as my opt ins, some of which can be digitally completed.
That’s awesome! I’m really enjoying your workbook, Nyxie! π
I recently started my blog and Iβm struggling so bad. I cannot seem to get out of a writing slump and Iβm awful at pictures for my fashion posts. Do you have any tips?
Are you struggling with the whole concept of your blog or just these 2 aspects of it? Writing slumps happen to everybody! Whenever that happens to me, I like to read other blogs in my niche to get some inspiration. Pinterest helps too! With pictures, honestly, practice makes perfect. Try to take them in natural light and just practice daily until you find a style that works for you!
Great ideas for a newbie like me to email subscribe lists. I’m not quite ready to set one up yet, but I’ll definitely keep your advice in mind.
Thanks π
I hope that once you do decide to start one this comes in handy!

I currently don’t have a mailing list (I did think about it a couple months ago) but maybe as I grow and I find myself able to dedicate some more time to things like mailing list then I will use these tips! Thanks for sharing as sometimes mailing list emails do get a bit boring haha π
Haha I totally agree, that’s why I haven’t sent a newsletter for the past 2 weeks! π
I already had an idea for the first freebies I want to create, but thanks to this post I came up with a few more ideas! I’m so excited to get to working with at least one new freebie today!

These are some really great suggestions! I have both downloaded from others and created for our blog many of these, but getting inspiration for new angles on what I have been doing never gets old. Thatβs why I really took a shine to the idea of offering a page or two from a paid ebook; which is something I hadnβt considered before. Thanks for awesome advice!
My pleasure! I’m glad you found the post helpful. π
I love this list, and I have some new ideas about creating a freebie for my readers! I knew the importance of having an email list, and I started one right along with my blog, so I’m ahead of the curve there. But it was basic. Like what you see? Subscribe. It’s worked, as I have over 600 subscribers. But I definitely think it could be doing better! Thank you so much for this post, because I now have a much better idea of how to actually create the freebies. Nobody ever explains that part. Lol. Which was why I never created one.
My pleasure! It’s awesome to hear that you’ve been able to get so many subscribers effortlessly! I do think that once you create an opt-in you will see even more people subscribing. Canva is your easiest bet when creating digital products!
This is super helpful! Thank you xx
My pleasure! π
