So you want to know how to make money with a blog as a beginner blogger… You’re in the right place!
Read on to find ways on how to make money online with a blog that won’t require you to be glued to the computer all day long.
Making money blogging online does take some work, but once you learn all the steps you can take in order to make money, you will be making a passive income online.
Yup, making money even when you sleep!
How much money can you make from a blog?
That depends on many things, mainly it depends on how many different streams of income you set up. Obviously, the more streams of income you have, the better because that will generate a lot more money than with just one income stream.
In this post, I am going to be explaining how to make money with a blog, even if you are a beginner blogger. You might not make as much money as bloggers who have been at the game for a long time, but you definitely can start earning online in your first few weeks, as long as you have the correct strategies in place.
I do want to point out, though, that every blogger is on their own journey. A mistake I often see bloggers make is get frustrated that they’re not making money as fast as they’d like, and then quit.
Blogging has opened up a lot of doors for me and many bloggers I have connected with over the course of my blogging journey, and none of the wonderful opportunities I’d been given could have happened had I quit early on.
However, if you want to work on something that’s going to help you get passive income in the next few weeks or months, blogging is definitely a great place to start your online income journey.
If you’ve been at your blog for a while now and did not make any money yet, don’t be discouraged. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective for things to work.
I learned about monetizing my blog by reading other blogs and by taking courses. If you are looking for an in-depth guide on making money with your blog, check out this affordable guide on making money with your blog.
With all that said, let’s get into the post.

If you’re still doing your research about how to start a blog that will make you money, here’s a free 7-day email course for you! ππΌ
This is one of the most effective ways of making money blogging.
Affiliate marketing is super simple. You team up with a company and advertise their content on your blog. You get your own custom link to their website, and if somebody clicks on your link and buys whatever product or service you spoke about in your blog, you will get a commission for selling that product at no extra cost for the buyer.
It is super easy to sign up for affiliate marketing, and there are many websites that offer their affiliate services to bloggers.
Here are some of the most successful affiliate marketing websites among bloggers:
Affiliate marketing is great because you can find products for literally anything you blog about.
Another thing I love about affiliate marketing is that it’s easy to make money from it even if you are a new blogger and don’t have a large following yet. I highly recommend you getting the beginner’s guide to affiliate marketing and sales if you want to learn more about how you can become a successful affiliate.
If you are a mommy blogger, head over to Amazon and link all your favorite baby buys in your blog posts. If you blog about lifestyle, you can link your favorite products in your posts and make sales like no tomorrow.
Amazon is one of the easiest affiliate marketing programs to get into, and you can start earning right away. If you’re interested in learning the correct ways of using your affiliate links to make money, this guide on making sales with Amazon Associates is going to be incredibly helpful.
Having ads on your blog will get you passive income, meaning you set them up once and they will generate income for you without you having anything to them.
There are many ad networks out there. Some of the most popular ones are Google AdSense, Monumetric, and Mediavine.
Mediavine is the ad network I have set up on my blog, and they pay the best out of any other ad networks that I’ve come across. To get into Mediavine, you need to have had 50,000 monthly sessions on your blog.
I know that seems like a lot, but I got there in less than a year blogging with the help of Pinterest. I now get nearly 90,000 monthly blog sessions and most of them come from Pinterest. To put this in dollar amounts, that amount of traffic made me over $1,000 in just ad revenue last month.
If you don’t know how to utilize Pinterest marketing to drive traffic to your blog, you can check out my Pinterest marketing guide here. The regular price is $44, but readers of this post can get it for only $30 with the code MONEY. That’s a complete bargain for 100 pages of information. Get your discounted copy here.
Many bloggers write sponsored posts and make a lot of money from them. Getting sponsorships can be difficult if your traffic is still very low, but you may be able to get gifted items instead.
When you feel like you have a considerable amount of traffic coming to your blog every month, you can either join blogging networks or reach out to brands directly.
I explained how I pitched to a brand successfully in my post on how to get your first sponsored post. If you’re new to sponsorships or would like some information on how to pitch to brands, I suggest you read that post.
This is another way of making passive income through your blog. If you have an idea for a digital product, like an ebook, a printable guide, or anything of that sort, you can sell it using your blog!
I use Canva to create all my pins and graphics (even my logo was designed on Canva). It is super easy to use, and you can look up tutorials on how to use it on YouTube.
The best thing about Canva is that it’s FREE! You can upgrade to the paid version when you want to access some better images, but to start out the free version is great.
Once you create your digital product(s), you will need to advertise them. You can do that on your blog (either in your posts or as a pop-up), on Instagram, or on Pinterest.
The best thing about making your own products is that YOU are in charge of how much you want to charge for them!
If you are knowledgeable in a certain field and want to teach others how to do what you do, you can do one-on-one online coaching.
You can either set up e-mail coaching sessions, or phone/Skype sessions.
A lot of coaches sell their sessions as a bundle, and you can make REAL good money from this. Again, you will be able to sell your services for as much money as you see fit for your time spent on them.
Online coaching will also need to be advertised, just as if you would advertise your digital products. I recommend using Pinterest, as it brings in the most traffic, as well as using SEO to get organic views.
If you’re new to SEO, my favorite resource for learning about keywords that rank on Google is Keyword Research for Bloggers which I recommend getting. It helped me double my organic searches in just ONE month.
