One of my favorite things about the fall season is getting a good self-care routine down. In today’s post, I am going to be sharing my favorite self-care ideas for the fall season.
There is something about the cooler weather that just screams self-care to me, and I spend more time on self-care in the fall and winter months than I do in the summer.
Maybe it’s the cooler weather or the cozy vibes all around, but self-care in the fall season just hits differently. Anyone else like me?
Self-care is also one of my favorite things to write about, so I’m very excited to be sharing these ideas with you!
Pin for later! 😊
10 Cozy Self-Care Ideas For The Fall Season
Make a fall playlist
I love creating playlists for different seasons and times of the year! I’ve yet to make a fall playlist, but I have a summer playlist which I listened to almost every single day in the summer.
For the fall, I am going to be listening to calming music, possibly some oldies, and I can’t wait to sit down and make my new playlist!
Try out a new recipe
Let’s get real- the fall time is the best time for trying out recipes. After all, pumpkins are in season, comfort food becomes a regular occurrence, and we wear leggings a lot more which gives us all the more reason to indulge.
Here are some recipes I’m going to be trying this fall:
Invest in a new skincare routine
My skin has been through a rollercoaster this summer. From saltwater to wearing makeup in the heat to staying out in the sun, it is in dire need of some TLC.
The fall time is the perfect time to try out a new skincare routine. Since I am looking for something without parabens, alcohol and mineral oil, I am going to be trying out the First Aid Beauty Love Your FAB Skin Kit.
I like trying out kits because I get multiple products that all work together, so I don’t have to do any of the looking for products myself!
Read at least one chapter of a new book every night
Reading in the fall time is my absolute favorite. I feel so relaxed reading a book before bedtime during this time of year and recommend everybody does the same!
Reading at least one chapter every day along with some herbal tea is the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day.
I just started reading Mastering Your Mean Girl by Melissa Ambrosini and I’m really enjoying it so far! Personal development books are my favorite to read so this book is right up my alley.
Get creative with your makeup
While I loved having bronzy and glowy skin during the summer, I’ve been obsessing over matte makeup for fall!
My go-to makeup in the fall time is a matte smokey eye, winged liner, and a dark nude lip.
Try out a new hydrating face mask
One of my favorite forms of self-care is using face masks. I try to do a face mask twice a week at least.
In the cooler months, I like to focus on hydration, and I’ve been loving these Neutrogena sheet masks. I like sheet masks because they’re no-fuss, no-mess and they leave my skin leaving hydrated but not shiny.
Start watching a new show
Cozy nights in for me mean Netflix and popcorn! I love curling up in bed and starting a new show.
I recently started watching Raising Dion, Queen of the South and Explained. I’m also always re-watching Friends which goes without saying.
What are some of your shows to watch?
Experiment with hot chocolate recipes
The fall time is my favorite time of year to try out different hot chocolate recipes until I find out one I love for the colder winter months. And what better way to practice self-care
Here are the recipes I will be trying out this fall:
Invest in some fall decor
It wouldn’t be a fall post without the mention of fall decor, now would it?
I’m always jealous of people who live in a climate which has an actual orange and red fall season. Over here in the Middle East, that’s not a thing, so I bring fall to me through fall decor!
Make your house smell amazing with fall candles
Candles are another thing that I like incorporating into my house that makes me feel better about not missing out on fall.
While I love fresh scents for the spring and summer, the fall time is all about sweet, cozy and delicious scents.
Here are some candles I am trying out this fall!
I hope you enjoyed this post on 10 cozy ways to practice self-care this fall! What are some ways you like to practice self-care this season?

Great tips! I totally agree that fall brings self care. I think for me it’s because it starts the dry skin season.
Mariam says
Ahh the dry skin is the worst! I always switch to a heavier lotion in the colder months.

These are really great ideas! I always make a playlist for summer and winter but never do for fall! Also MUST have a new skincare routine! I love making a new one for the changing weather. Pumpkin recipes are my absolute favourite too, theres something about fall being cosy and warm inside that makes me netflix binge too 😝Candles are also perfect for fall! My sister in law just started her own candle business and its just perfect timing! Thanks for sharing X

I’ve never thought about having seasonal playlists before! I have been considering dyeing my hair for autumn however I think it’s a bit late now, so should probably consider winter colours instead!
Mariam says
I’m always too scared to dye over my blonde but I LOVE it when others do!

I love self-care all year round but definitely agree with getting a new skincare routine. After all, these cold bitter winds and central heating takes a toll on our skin. Ah, playing around with different hot chocolate ideas is such a good one. I love hot chocolate so sprucing that up a bit is other-worldly haha! Also, hell yeah to fall candles, they smell divine
Mariam says
My skin eats crap all fall and winter haha! That’s why I love investing in a better skincare routine in the colder months. I went into bath and body works the other day and had the best time sniffing their fall candles! So good!
Bethany Jane says
Fall for me is just jam-packed with candles and skincare, haha! I find myself spending ages relaxing in warm baths when the temperature drops, and there’s nothing that feels better than properly hydrating your skin when it’s getting dry from the wind and rain!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons!
I’m stepping up with some new makeup look for my everyday fall-winter look and going back to my favorite fall color (burnt orange and yellow ochre).
Also, some new skincare routines. So, I’m making a short list of trying new products.
Great post!
