I love journaling a lot. If you know me, you’ll know that journaling is a passion for me. I journal as often as possible.
Today, I’ll be talking about why everyone should take up journaling. But before we get into it, what is a journal, and what is journaling?
A journal is a book in which you write down your personal experiences and thoughts. Journaling is a written record of our thoughts and feelings. There are endless benefits of journaling.
But here are a few reasons why everyone should take up journaling!

1. Journaling is therapeutic
I find journaling so therapeutic. It helps control my thoughts, emotions, and feelings.
Journaling can really help you even on your worst days. Writing my thoughts and emotions down helps take negative thoughts from my mind, helps me feel better, and it helps relieve me of stress and anxiety as well.
2. It is an amazing way to practice self-love
If you know me very well, you’ll know that I am a huge advocate for self-love. I love practicing self-love and journaling is a great way to practice self-love.
Journaling will help you forgive yourself, accept yourself, discover yourself and help you fall in love with yourself.
3. Boosts creativity
I’m not in any way an artistic person but journaling boosts my creativity. I get so creative with my journals, sometimes it’s hard to believe I designed the journal myself. Journaling brings out creative parts of me I never knew existed.
4. It helps you achieve your goals
Journaling can help you smash your goals. Writing your goals down in a journal will help you focus more on your goals, and be more accountable for them.
I love writing my goals in my journal because I see my journals every day and writing my goals in a place where I can see them every day motivates me to work towards them.
5. It captures memories
One of the reasons why I love journaling is because it helps capture memories. Life happens and sometimes things happen so swiftly, we are unable to keep records and track of everything that happens to us at every point in time.
But journaling helps us capture memories. It helps us keep track of the important things that happen in our life.
6. Journaling helps us get better
Journaling helps us keep track of everything ranging from our successes, failures, mistakes, etc. It helps us see the mistakes we have made, the things we did that we shouldn’t have done, where we did things right, and all that.
Journaling will help you see your shortcomings and make sure you don’t repeat the same mistakes. It will also help you see the things you did right and make you know what works.
7. Keeps our thoughts organized
Our minds can be crazy right?! Isn’t it alarming how much thoughts can be scattered through our minds all at once?
In times when I have so much on my mind, picking up my journal and writing out my thoughts helps a ton. Journaling organizes my thoughts and helps me clear my mind.
8. Improves your writing
Writing is an art and journaling helps build that art. My writing has improved so much all thanks to journaling.
When you journal, you get better at writing, your communication skills increase and you’ll be more creative in expressing yourself and your thoughts. Writing helps you discover your voice.
9. Journals facilitates personal growth
One of the main reasons why anyone should take up journaling is because journaling helps you grow.
I’m all for growth and journaling helps me grow in ways I could never imagine. Journaling helps you become a better version of yourself. It’ll help understand yourself better, help you achieve your goals, give you an overall positive outlook of life, and much more.
These are just some of the benefits of journaling, and why everyone should take up journaling. Do you journal? Why do you think everyone should take up journaling? Let me know!
