A bullet journal is a little book where you can personalise it and make it your own. It normally has dotted pages in it so you can draw lines and boxes to help plan things out. You can also create a bullet journal digitally. I would recommend doing this on an iPad. There are apps that you can use that are created specifically for this!
If you are a more creative person, then I would recommend getting a physical book. If you struggle with the creative side of things then a digital version would be great for you.
How to start a bullet journal:
If you are wanting to start a bullet journal, then there are a few essential things you need to get. I found my bullet journal on Amazon but there are so many places you can get them from.
You are going to need lots of different colour’s pens, some stickers, tape, a ruler and any other little bits and pieces you want to add to personalise it. You can find out more about how to start a bullet journal here: How to start a bullet journal for beginners.
What is personal development?
Some say that personal development is split into 3 different sections: physical, mental and spiritual. It is believed that the different sections all have an effect on each other. For example, your physical situation will affect how you feel mentally. Personal Development is about shaping your life to how you want it to be.
Why is personal development important?
Personal development helps you define your life goals and helps you become a better person. It puts you on the track you want to be on. Everyone’s personal development journal is different which is what makes it so great.
How To Bullet Journal For Personal Growth
Set out a plan
The best way to keep your mind on track is to set out a plan. I make weekly plans, but you can make daily or even monthly plans if this is the best way for you. I set out what I need to do each day of the week so that I know I will be able to get all my jobs done. By setting it weekly it means I can plan other things around my jobs.
Review your week
When the week is over why not give it a review? Go through each day of your week and talk about the good and the bad and how you can make the bad positive again.
A good thing to do in a bullet journal is to create a mood tracker. This can tracker your mood each day. There are so many different types of journal spreads that you can research and choose the ones that best suit your goals and what you want to track.
Track the positives
Highlight the positives of your week and write them down. Write down how they made you feel. Talking about your feelings is so important for personal development. Writing them down in a bullet journal can be much easier than talking about them out loud which is why I recommend a bullet journal so much!
Being able to look back on all these positive experiences is what can help you when trying to move forwards.
Gratitude
Practising gratitude can do wonders for your personal development. Gratitude is where you are thankful for the things that you have. A good exercise is to write down 3 things you are grateful for each day whether they are big or small.

Set your goals
Setting goals can have a big impact on your personal development. Your goals should be SMART goals. This means they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and you can set a deadline for them.
This way your goals will be much more manageable, and you will be on the right track. This leads us on to the topic of affirmations and manifestation.
How Manifestation helps personal development
Affirmations and manifestation can put you in a positive mindset which can help you achieve your goals and work on your personal development. For example, the 369 manifestation method is a great method to keep your mind on track throughout the day.
By writing down your affirmations at three points in the day you are constantly reminded of your goals and what you can achieve. This is where a bullet journal is great for personal development because you can keep all of your affirmations in one place.
