Sunday Self-Care Routine

Self-Care Sunday Routine To Recharge Your Batteries

If you’re a woman on the go, you probably have a hard time taking the time off to care for yourself. Well, in order to be great at everything else, you need to ensure that you’re taking the time to pour into your own cup. In today’s post, I am sharing the perfect Sunday routine for all your self-care needs.

Practicing self-care is essential for any woman, no matter what stage of life you’re in. Between work, school, side projects and maintaining a social life, it’s important to take some time off every once in a while to relax and just be. Because working all day every day is absolutely toxic and should not be how you live your life.

Sundays are the perfect days for some TLC. You don’t have to take the whole day off for self-care either, a couple of hours are enough if you have other plans as well. Although a whole day of pampering does sound absolutely amazing, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking the whole day every once in a while to just relax and take a break.

The perfect Sunday self-care routine.

1- Sleep in as Long as You Want

Breakaway from the horrible sound of the alarm and sleep in until your body naturally wakes up. Many of us are sleep-deprived and need any extra sleep we can get, and getting a few more hours during a self-care day can make the world of a difference.

So if you’ve been sacrificing sleep lately, make sure to shut off your alarm and get as much sleep as your body needs.

2- Breakfast in Bed

Because we’re taking it slow on a self-care Sunday, breakfast in bed is the next step. And you know what? Go nuts. Flowers, fresh fruit juice, and whatever you’re in the mood for.

Have you had your eye on a new waffles recipe? Have you always wanted to try making a bomb breakfast burrito? Or are you more of an avocado on toast type of gal?

Either way, having a slow, beautiful breakfast in bed is going to be the perfect start to your self-care Sunday and will leave you wondering why you don’t do this more often.

And if you’re feeling really fancy, get you one of those breakfast in bed trays like this one!

3- Enjoy Some Nature

Getting out and getting some fresh air and sunlight on you is definitely a form of self-care. Especially if you’re working from home or spending a lot of time indoors.

Going out for a nice walk or even sitting on your porch with a cup of coffee can have amazing benefits on your mood. It is definitely an easy and effective form of self-care you should consider adding to your weekend routine.

4- Do Something Creative

Even on rest days, it’s good to keep your brain working. However, rather than keeping it busy with things you do during the work week, try something more creative like baking, painting, sketching or anything to that nature.

These activities are great to keep your mind going, but they’re also very relaxing which is perfect for a self-care day.

5- Have an At-Home Spa Session

What’s better than an at-home spa session on a self-care Sunday? I personally LOVE to do all my beauty rituals on the last day of the week because that ensures I’m looking and feeling fresh and ready for a new week.

Some things you can do are:

  • Give yourself a blowout. This brush is ALL anyone is using now.
  • Paint your nails a pretty color.
  • Do an at-home laser hair removal session.
  • Put on some self-tan. This one is my favorite because it’s never streaky!
  • Chill out with a face mask. This one is super hydrating and gentle on the skin.

6- Meditate

Meditation is an amazing thing to do every day, but especially when you have some extra time. During the week, I don’t usually have too long to meditate, but weekends are the perfect time to meditate for as long as possible.

Meditating can be a little intimidating at first, but that’s why guided meditation is a great way to get into it. Below are some of my favorite guided meditations:

  • A Powerful 10 Minute Guided Meditation
  • 10 Minute Chakra Balance Guided Meditation for Positive Energy
  • I AM Morning Affirmations for Women | Powerful Guided Meditation

7- Read a Book or Watch a TV Show

Ending the day with a good book or an episode or two of your favorite show sounds great, doesn’t it? There are so many good choices for both, and what you choose to consume depends entirely up to you. I personally like to read personal development books, and watch comedies to keep myself laughing and in a good mood.

Here is a list of 10 of my favorite books that keep me in a high vibe, and here is my post on some of the best shows on Netflix you can watch.

8- Call a Loved One

Does anyone else never have time for a phone call during the workweek, or is that just me? This is why weekends are perfect for those phone calls with your loved ones. Sometimes we can get caught up in our day-to-day life and forget to check in on the people in our lives, and setting aside some time during the weekend is going to make all the difference in your relationships.

9- Practice Gratitude

If there’s one thing you should probably be doing before going to bed, it’s expressing gratitude for everything you have. Without going into what’s going on in the world, it can be hard to focus on the positives rather than on the negatives. However, the more you express gratitude for all the good around you, the better your mindset will become.

This can be as simple as writing down 3 things you’re grateful for or using a journal prompt related to expressing gratitude. Either way, this is something everybody should be doing regularly for a positive mindset.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this post on a Sunday self-care routine. These are just some of the ones I like to incorporate into my routine, but if you have others you’d love to share, please do so in the comments for everybody to read about.
