I tend to get really moody sometimes, especially right before, and during, and right after that time of the month. I know can’t be the only one who that happens to, right? It sucks getting these mood swings because technically nothing is really wrong, I’m just miserable and for some reason that makes me think that it’s okay to sulk.
There are some things I like to do when I get in these moods that don’t take a long time- most of these can be done in 10 minutes each. So whether you’re experiencing time of the month blues or are having a day where nothing seems to go wrong, cheer yourself up with these tried and true tips.
Take a shower
Seriously, a hot shower can do wonders. The minute that hot water starts pouring all over me I feel like a marshmallow. Take some time in the shower to exfoliate, put on a hair mask, maybe a face mask too. There’s something about getting squeaky clean and putting on fresh PJs that puts me in a great mood.
Nap
I find that whatever a hot shower can’t fix, a nap can. Granted, it might take you more than 10 minutes but it’s well worth it.
Put on some fun music
…and dance around. Get your body moving, maybe learn some new choreography. Physical activities like dancing release endorphins, which are the hormones that make our moods better. Scientifically, you have to feel better after a little dance.

Make yourself a snack and some warm tea
Eat something you enjoy. A granola bar, cereal, a sandwich- anything works. The more you like the food, the better for your mood.
Meditate
I’ve been really into meditation lately, and it made me realize how stupid and insignificant most of my “problems” really are. Try it for yourself. You can either pay for an app subscription, or do what I do and listen to them through YouTube for free.
Say your affirmations
Your life doesn’t suck as bad as you think, you just have to stop thinking that it does. Negative thinking brings more negativity into your life, and you don’t want that. Instead, ditch that and say some positive affirmations that will empower you and bring more abundance into your life.

Watch a good comedy
Have you ever been in a bad mood while watching Friends? I don’t think so. Watch an episode and you should be good as new. If you’re not a fan of TV shows, maybe stand-up is more your flow? Whatever your preference, Netflix has something on it that will have you laughing in no time.

A shower ALWAYS helps me! As a Mom of 3 little ones the space is much needed, too. And music is a big one in our house. My boys request party music to dance to and relaxing music before bed. Love this post!

Music is the #1 fix for me! Dance music but also just slow and comforting music can do wonders. It allows me to take full breaths and calm down, reset myself. It definitely helps me get into a better mood during situations. Having tea is a great way too! Love the tips 🙂
