I’m starting a new series on my blog called Feature Friday, where every Friday I will be posting an interview with a different blogger!
I always wanted to create a series of some sort on my blog, and since I’m all about collaboration, I thought this would be perfect!
The first Feature Friday is going to feature Kelly Jones, who is the creator of Kelly’s World Of Art.
Here is her interview.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in the Northwest of the UK and I am self-employed as an artist.
What do you blog about?
My blog “Kellys Art World” is about my art. I tend to blog about how someone would buy art and offer helpful tips on this and displaying art in the home. I am hoping to expand on this and maybe add a few more subjects about my art process and the products I use.
Why did you start your blog?
Writing is another of my passions and I wanted to offer some tips on how someone would buy art for the home and display it in the home. I also wanted to get my art out into the public eye. If I can make someone’s home nice with the art that I create then that will make me happy.
What did you hope to achieve when you first started blogging?
At first I just wanted to blog about what I was passionate about, which is art.
Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
I follow a lot of mainstream design blogs like Houzze and Instyle. I haven’t really found a favorite yet.
What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
I love it when someone comments on my blog. This makes me feel that I am doing something right and what I am writing is getting read.
What’s a blogging tool you can’t live without?
I am loving the WordPress app which allows me to check in with my blog while I am out and about.
What’s a piece of advice you would give someone who is struggling with their blog?
I have had a few blogs in the past and speaking from past mistakes I would say don’t rush it. Get your work out there but don’t worry too much about the stats. It takes time to gather a following and for people to start commenting on your blog posts.
What has been your biggest blogging achievement?
I have started to get comments on my blog. This to me means that I am definitely doing something right.
Aside from blogging, how else do you spend your time?
I draw, paint and read like books are about to be banned.
Where do you hope to see your blog in 5 years?
I would love to have gained a huge following and to be able to earn a portion of my income from it.
Thank you, Kelly, for doing this interview with me! It was great learning more about you and I’m sure my audience will enjoy reading your interview.
You can find Kelly’s blog here.

I’m glad I’ve read this and I’ll definitely follow! I love coming across other artists – it’s unfortunately never become more than a commission every now and then for me but I love being able to keep up with other artists’ designs. Great idea for a series, too!

This is a great idea for a series, I love that you’re introducing your readers to bloggers who they might otherwise not have heard of. Kelly sounds like she runs a really interesting blog! I’ll have to check it out as I need all the help I can get when it comes to art!
