How to be a classy woman- Tips that work

What is a classy woman? Having class means to up-level your life and start habits that will make you feel better, look better, and help you go places as the confident woman you are.

Then this post is for you. In this post, I am going to be sharing a few tips which are going to help you bring some class into your life.

Now if you’re thinking that being classy is an old-fashioned concept, it is. But that doesn’t mean that it’s outdated and useless. In fact, I’ve noticed that whenever I carry myself a certain way, my mood is better and I get treated WAY nicer by strangers and people who know me.

Changing a few habits and behaviors can really elevate you and help you get to where you want to in life. Below are tips that will help any woman of any age level up and become a classy woman.

Habits Of Classy Women You Need To Try

9 Habits Of Classy Women You Need To Start

Be impeccable with your word

This first tip is actually taken from the book The Four Agreements, and it’s one of my favorite tips of all time.

What being impeccable with your word means is using your thoughts and words for good. It means to speak with integrity and to use your words to take you in a direction of love.

Speaking good into the world is the first step towards a classy lifestyle. It’s no surprise that being nice and speaking in a nice manner is the secret to many good things in life. Job offers, connections, and even getting bumped to first class flights are all possible if you use your words wisely.

People are automatically nice to you, and you can always leave a good first impression. That not only makes you feel good, but it makes everyone around you feel good in your presence too.

Do not gossip

A good second tip to bounce off of being impeccable with your word is trying not to gossip.

This is a natural flaw that many of us share, but it is one that is very worth ditching. Gossip is almost never done for good. In fact, most gossip is vicious and very unnecessary.

A good trick to not getting into gossip when people around you are speaking about others is either changing the subject, or simply excusing yourself from the conversation.

Soon enough, people will see that you’re not interested in gossip, and hopefully stop including you in it.

Be thankful

Practicing gratitude is one of the best thing you can do for a better mindset and a more gracious way of life.

It’s easy to sometimes think that your life is falling apart and that you don’t have anything to be thankful for, but there is always something you can show gratitude for.

Getting up in the morning, having a warm bed to sleep in at night and your family or friends are all examples of things you should be thankful for.

If you’d like to become better at expressing gratitude, you can check out this post on gratitude journal prompts.

Compliment other people

Giving compliments to others, genuine compliments, is the quickest way to make someone feel good. A classy woman knows that making someone’s day is an easy and effective way to spread happiness.

Classy women don’t compete with anybody. They’re secure enough with themselves to know that a compliment or two a day is not going to make them any less of a woman, instead, it will empower other women around them.

A genuine compliment goes a long way with some people, and you never know. Maybe your compliment will be the only good thing that person will have said to them all day.

Be punctual

A classy woman is never late, and knows that the term fashionably late is laughable.

Arriving on time to your appointments and engagements will show the people around you that you respect their time, and more importantly, that they should respect yours.

There is nothing worse than having someone wait for you because you couldn’t make it on time. If you’re usually prone to showing up late, plan to get ready earlier in the day. You can even lay out your outfit the night before, or have a few outfit ideas ready in your closet.

Click here for more tips on how to get ready faster, so that you can be a punctual queen.

Dress to impress

A well-dressed woman is a woman who owns whatever room she enters. You know that saying that goes, “If you look good, you feel good.”? Totally true.

The instant you put on a classy and beautiful outfit, you feel like a million bucks.

A great hack to dressing well is to mainly buy timeless pieces. Those will never go out of style, and you can mix and match with those pieces easily.

You can still mix in trendy elements to your outfits, just maybe have them be in the form of accessories instead of the whole outfit.

You can click here for a guide on how to dress elegantly every day.

Keep the right company

The company you keep can absolutely influence your actions and habits. The more you spend time with quality people, the more you will evolve.

Having people around you who want your best interests and bring out the best in you are the people you should give your time and energy to. There is nothing worse than having toxic friends, and if you do, they need to go.

Save your time and energy for those who are kind, classy, and have your back.

Learn how to say no

Classy women have boundaries in all areas of life. Boundaries tell people how far they can go with you, and what buttons not to push.

But a classy woman also knows how to refuse an invitation, or how to refuse to help someone she can’t help. You should never feel bad about declining something.

It’s not about what you say, it’s how you say it. A simple, “Thank you, but I already have plans” will suffice in almost all situations.

As far as situations where someone wants you to do something for them, you can simply say, “I’m afraid I don’t know how to help you”.

Straight, to the point, and very respectful.

Practice self-care

Having a good self-care regimen is essential to mental, physical and emotional health. You have probably seen a million self-care videos and posts by now, but they really do have the ability to make you feel like an absolute queen.

My absolute favorite ways to practice self-care is taking long, hot showers, reading for pleasure, and going on long walks.

It was really inspiring to hear such loveliness coming from a real lady.
Today’s so called ladies are a far cry from what respect should be.
      This was truly so refreshing.
      Thank you

      Great read and great points!

Many of these I already practice. I’m working on being more punctual!

I also spend time in God’s, presence and His word. I use early mornings to pray and meditate.

I’m focusing on being more grateful, intentional, and content with what I have and where I am. I’m over “keeping up with the Joneses. I’m not perfect and not trying to be it’s exhausting!

I’ve also come to realize that self care is the best care and it is in NO way selfish!

I think that there needs to be a blog about table manners . A person not using their utensils correctly and shoving their food in their mouth as fast as they can , then eating with their mouth partly open sends a message that they lack good breeding. And of course never taking their eyes off their phone while at the table. And napkin usage. I see people becoming more and more lax about how they appear while eating in public. I blame their parents for not teaching the kiddos when they are little. What happened to “couth”,?

Thank you very much for this post, I really benefitted from this.
But there is one thing about the toxic friends, how do I cut them off/ end the friendship?

Having a conversation about their actions and attitude will sometimes help save the friendship. If that doesn’t work, you can simply not engage with them anymore. They will know why after your conversation!
