Nighttime routine ideas you’re going to love
Having a night routine can make your life a hundred times better! Doing a few things every night before bed can help you unwind, work on yourself, and get ready for the next day.
There is something about having a routine that will make you feel like you’re so much better at this adulting thing than you think.
If you’re looking for easy ways to be productive and end your day on a high note, this is the post for you!
No time to read this now? Pin for later! ๐
Do Something To Unwind
The first thing I think anybody should do when they get home is relax and unwind. After all, you’d just been out all day at work or school, and getting rest is crucial.
It’s no use going from working or studying straight to something else. Not only will you not feel like doing anything else after coming home, but you’ll also burn yourself out.
In the hustle culture that we’re in, it’s important to take breaks to unwind.
And the best part? Winding down can mean anything you want it to mean- from taking a quick nap to laying on the couch and catching up on your current favorite Netflix show.

Do Something For Your Space
Cleaning your space a little every day will ensure that your home doesn’t get trashed throughout the week. Nobody wants to spend all weekend cleaning up their home, right?
Doing a few things like a load of laundry every few days, dusting one day and vacuuming the next, or even doing a 15-minute clean up every day is going to help you keep your space clean and neat.
My tip to making it somewhat fun? Put on a playlist on Spotify (I’ve got a great one here), set a timer for however many minutes you’d like to clean, and get to it!
Do Something For Your Soul
Incorporating a bit soul work every day is going to help you learn more about yourself.
Mindfulness is a wonderful thing to incorporate into your night routine. It allows you to be more present, and more aware of who you are and what you stand for.
An amazing way to practice mindfulness is meditation. Being in a meditative state can help you with a lot of inner work. I also use meditation to manifest things into my life. You can learn more about manifesting in my post here.
Here is a meditation I’ve been loving lately which is only 10 minutes long!
Do Something For Your Body
It’s no secret that moving our bodies is an essential part of a healthy and balanced life.
I’m not one to preach about intense workouts, since I don’t do them, but anything as simple as a walk or a quick yoga flow can have such good benefits for you if done consistently.
We sit at a desk most of the day, so it’s inevitable that a little movement is necessary.
Try to do some form of physical exercise at least 30 minutes every day.
Go for a walk with your friend, walk your dog, do a dance workout or some kickboxing- anything will do the trick.
Plus, exercise releases endorphins, and who doesn’t want to be happy?!
Do Something For Your Mind
Stimulating your mind is amazing for personal development.
There are so many helpful things you can do to exercise your mind muscle, and I love doing a few things every day to help me work on my growth.
The great thing about personal development is that there are countless ways to go about it!
Here are some of my favorites:
- reading personal development books (here are 6 of my favorites)
- listening to motivational podcasts (click here for my favorite personal development podcasts)
- practicing gratitude (click here for 33 gratitude prompts)
- writing your thoughts in a journal (here are 50 self-loving journal prompts)
- learning a new skill on a website like Skillshare
- learning a new language- I love the app Duolingo for this!
Do Something For Your Beauty
Self-care and self maintenance are great ways to wind down and start getting ready for bed.
Once you finish all of your daily tasks after work or school, take some time before bed to pamper yourself!
This can be as easy as putting in a hair treatment, doing a pedicure, or putting on a sheet mask and following up with a skincare routine before bed.
You can also do some at-home beauty treatments like IPL hair removal! Here is a post on my experience with at-home laser hair removal.
Here are some of my favorite beauty treatments which have helped me look and feel my best!
Do Something For Tomorrow
And finally, before getting into bed and getting your well-deserved beauty sleep, take a few minutes to prep for the following day.
That can mean getting your purse and outfit ready, making a to-do list for the next day, prepping your school/work lunch or even putting your hair in overnight braids or rollers for an easy heat-free hairstyle!
There are so many things you can do the night before to prep for the next day, and I recommend doing a couple of these things every night to save you time in the morning.
This way you can simply wake up, put on your prepped outfit, and head out!

Night routines are as important as having a good daily routines, as each builds upon the other. I love massaging some handmade face cream into my skin and doing a bit of writing with a scented candle lit.
